This was the second song I wrote for the album. The first was Porcelain. It’s also only one of two songs that didn’t have any guitar on it. Eye Contact was the other. Like Porcelain, this one was written about ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response). This subject matter seemed to fit perfectly with my Shoegaze and Dream Pop intentions for the musical direction of the project. I liked the idea that someone could be listening to this on headphones late at night while drifting off to sleep. There is something very satisfying about that to me. That said, the other side of the coin is my worry that it will be nonsensical cacophony to some ears. Fingers crossed, most listeners will approve.
