This was the very first song I wrote for this project/album. It was back when my intention was to have guests play/sing on everything, similar to what I did for the albums Second Tuesday of Never and Isosceles. But, this ended up being the only tune where I didn’t play/sing all the parts myself.
Serge and Lynda are a husband and wife tag team that used to be in one of my favorite indie Shoegaze bands called Loomer back in the 90s when Peter and I used to be in Creeping Myrtle. Myrtle sort of stopped being Shoegaze by the time I recruited other people to be in the band and stopped recording all the parts myself. But, Loomer stuck to their roots until the end, something I appreciated and admired about them. Peter has played on all four of my projects now, something I can’t say about anyone else other than myself.
I think this turned out really well. Some might say I’m burying this one by putting it as the final track on the album. But, since I was by myself for the other nine songs, I think it absolutely works best as the closing bell, so to speak. Plus, I love albums that end on a great tune. Since I’m not by myself on this one, I can go ahead and call it great and not worry about being big-headed. Mondo props and appreciation to Lynda, Serge, and Peter for guesting on this. It means a lot.
